I have a joke virus that left a blue screen background, how do i get rid of it?

My computer detected a joke virus, which it deleted, but the clean failed. It left a blue screen desktop background that says “Warning! Spyware detected on your computer. Install and antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer.” I can’t seem to get rid of it. When I go to my display properties, the option to change my background isnt even there anymore! How do I get rid of this thing? Its annoying!

I have the same problem It is Antiviris XP 2008. I was told to purchase Nod32. It will clear it up.
Also, you need to get rid of the whole virus. It can cause your computer to respond slow and even crash.

applying a new background will not work. You need to eliminate the whole virus. Buy a good Antivirus spyware. Whatever you do….DON’T GIVE ANTIVIRUS XP 2008 MONEY!!!!!!!!1

Download and run firefox to protect your computer from future spyware attacks and pop ups which are coming in through internet explorer (Trojan downloaders, win32 ).Browser attacks aren’t easy to spot because they piggyback on legitimate traffic that doesn’t exhibit many obvious warning signs

I got the blue-screen joke a few days ago. i picked my comp apart deleted file after file nothing seemed to work. i spent 36 hours google n and searching for an answer.. every post i read had people acting like they knew how to fix it .. but it was all b.s-and miss leading nothing worked.. (dont waste peoples time)if u dont no what the @#$% there talking about. - well now i vented lol heres what to do goto and download free version (home use only) then install - then set ur comp to safe mode then run scan it will stop the joke and return ur screensavers..and stop ur comp from screwing up any further.. and ur welcome- hit me up on and join my page and let me no how u make out …
